Lunch with the Hubby

I LOVE the fact that because I stay at home, I can have lunch with my husband. Lunch once a week provides us with uninterrupted talk time where we can share with each other our hopes and dreams or just about our day or week. Today is a meet the hubby for lunch day! WOO HOO
One of the things I miss most after moving back to Florida, was working side by side Scott everyday! I know alot of couples could never work with their spouse or wouldn't want to, and I don't think that makes them any less of a couple or any less in love. But we meshed well and enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong we had our days of being on each other's nerves but mostly we got along good. I miss it and so does he. But life goes on and so do we right?

Zippers and such

So excited I learned to sew a zipper on with my sewing machine yesterday! And I actually read the book first, instead of jumping right into it getting frustrated and then reading the book. It was super easy! And opened up a whole nother world of sewing possibilities to me now! And since no one has a money tree growing in their front yard yet, I am trying to make gifts for the holidays and birthdays! Our family has a crazy amount of birthdays near the holidays so it is double duty towards the end of the year! And anyone who knows me knows that I love to give gifts that are meaningful, and yes I do this to a fault. So I usually start hunting early, thinking and rethinking my possibilities, purchasing and returning until I have just the right gift. It is an OCD activity of mine...So now with making some of the gifts you would think I am better right? WRONG, it is the same, I have to find the RIGHT thing to make for the RIGHT person, DUH...and then what do you make for men? Geesh now you understand where I am at this morning. But I do love doing it and I love that I am learning new things.

Gratitude

Feeling the crisp morning air. Knowing that change is coming. A heart heavy with hope for a dear friend. Watching my son become a man. Embracing my soul mate. Being a homemaker. Sidewalk chalk covering the drive. Sunny skies. Cool breezes. Cardinals on the feeder. Flowers laden with dew. Deer prints in the sand.

So many things. So much gratitude. So little time spent appreciating.

"Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we expierence life and the world." John Milton.

I long to see, feel, touch and encounter my everyday epiphanies that have long been overlooked, pushed to the side, forgotten in the busyness of life. One thousand gifts I long to find, they are not hidden, but in plain site, they are everywhere, for everyone to see, but in my heart lies the key to these transcendent moments, moments that bring me warmth, comfort, laughter, reverence and most important gratitude. My journey to find one thousand gifts starts today.

1. "I love you momma"

2. My soul mates embrace

3. Kind words from old friends
